Default My 2003 Honda Accord EX driver's side door doesn't automatically lock, why?

All other automatic door locks work, but only if the driver's door is in the unlock position. For instance, I can unlock all four doors with the keyless entry only after I manually unlock the drivers door. So I know it has something to do with the driver's side lock being the controller of the other locks, but do you know how to fix it?

Sounds like a problem with the locking mechanism on the driver's door. The way to fix it is to take the door trim off so you can access the locking mechanism. Probably will respond to a few shots of WD (water displacement) lubricant spray.Care is needed when removing the door trim. Slip a wide blade screwdriver under the edge, find each fastening clip, and prise it out.

The electric motor actulator has failed in the drivers side door. Not sure if that one is seperate or made onto the door latch assembly. Yes contacts inside the drivers door signal the others to unlock.

its probably your actuator, i got an 03 accord coupe and mine does the same thing, they told me it be about 200-300 dollars to get it fixed at honda, im sure you can get it done somewhere else for less, but mainly it seems like the actuator.

Having similar problems with my '03 Accord. I tried to get it fixed at the dealer and they quoted me an astronomical price. But I bought the actuator on my own and it only cost $54. But I still need to have someone install it, and it should just be an hour of labor.
