Default what type of freon does a 1993 honda accord take for the ac?

it should have came with r12, but if its had any ac work done lately it should have 134a, cars that came with r12 can be retro fitted to use 134a

R-12. Although you should convert it to R-134a. Any local service shop will have the parts (or can order them)

134a will work.... but if your a/c still isn't or the compressor still doesn't work, before you go replacing the compressor make sure you didn't put too much freon in there (then it cant circulate and it will feel like it served no purpose at all) and then check your a/c relay, that could possibly be a cheap fix, they can go bad, epically if you like reaming thepiss out of your motor lol.... good luck

It takes R-12, when you take a look at the AC service ports the R-12 system uses schrader valves like a tire valve with threads on the side of the valve. R-134a uses acme fittings which are quick disconnect fittings, if the system was converted it should have the new fittings screwed on the old schrader type valves.
