I think the engine is a 2.2 ctdi or something like that. I love the way those civic hatchs look and im just starting to get into diesel cars. I really hate vw's and i doubt i would actually do this but i have been curious for a while. If its not possible than im deffiantely waiting for the 09 accord diesel.

Possible, yes. Practical? Never. Even if you get the diesel to pass emissions tests you would still face safety and possible crash testing in order to certify. In a nutshell, it would cost the price of two Civics just to certify one.

WHAT WOULD BE THE SENSE OF THAT! YOU WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALOT OF RED TAPE..FOLLOW ALL THE EMISSIONS LAWS..IT COULD BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE..BUT IT IS POSSIBLE..WAIT FOR THE 09' ACCORD DIESEL TO COME OUT!

You will also have to meet crash regs, and since the europe civic is a different car than american civic, its unlikely you would be successful.I hear you about the diesels, they are cool, but for now, you have to stick with what VW offers
