Default Help!! This black thing just fell off the front of my 2003 Honda Civic.?

Well I came out from this lady's house today & noticed that the black thing on the bottom of the front of my car was half way off, I don't know what it is so I drove home anyways, then when I got home it was three-fourths of the way off. I needed to run an errand & by the time I got back it was all the way off & I don't know where it is. Does anyone know what it was & how important it is to have on there & if it's ok to drive my car around? My little brother keeps telling me that my car is going to fall apart without it is this true? It's a 2003 Honda civic LX 4 door.It wasn't the bumper it was a plastic thing underneath the bumper.

It sounds like it was the plastic trim that is used to draw air up into the engine to help keep it cool. Maybe your car will overheat now?

Based on your description theres no way we can tell you what it was youll have to give a real description of the part. It sounds like an air dam or front trim add on maybe?

I think it's a plastic plate at the bottom of the car - I forgot what it's called. I knocked mine off my Volkswagen. You should have it replaced. It protects the components under the car from rust, leaves, water and dirt.

No thats just the black splash guard thats attached to your car. They fall off usually when the car gets older or when you hit the curb too much when you park. Your car should be fine to drive around but I would replace it when you get a chance so that water and dirt doesn't get up in your cars mechanical components.

lol your little brother is incorrect. You tore off your spoiler, under the front bumper. It's just a little plastic guard to keep mud and gunk from gathering right there. You don't need it. It doesn't effect the performance of your car at all. If you want to replace it, it will probably be expensive, so don't waste your money. Good luck!

it's probably a piece of rubber that keeps road debris from damaging the radiator. you may want to replace this.slap your brother and tell him it's a Honda!
