My car won't start and my boyfriend thinks the solenoid is stuck. He says if we know where it is we can tap on it to get the car going long enough to take it in to be looked at. Any ideas about where this part is located in the engine/ how we get to it? Thanks!

It is attached to your starter. It should be on the bottom of the engine towards front on what ever side the battery is. If your boyfriend thinks it's the solenoid, why doesn't he come over and tap on it! It could take two people. One to tap and one to turn the key.
