No.An intercooler is made to cool incoming air for a turbo/supercharger system.Technically, the colder air is, the more dense it is, so colder air is always better. But you would benefit far more from a cold air intake, away from the engine compartment to get colder air to your engine.

No. In fact, i've heard of many people doing that just to have an intercooler on their car, but they don't have a turbo. Believe me, they get flamed for it. It's stupid.If you had a turbo or a supercharger, it would be benefitial. But without that, it's not cost effective. You'd be better off with RAM air, or just a cold air intake kit (keep the filter away from the heat of the engine).It's correct that the cooler the air the better - but an intercooler on a stock engine with stock intake won't make much difference at all. Certainly not worth the custom tubing and mounting brackets.
