Default Is the Honda Civic worth $3000 more than the Ford Focus?

With incentives, that's about the difference right now. I have a Honda CRv and love it, but I drove a Ford Escort for 12 years and it was my most reliable car. Give me your thoughts if you own either one.

I personally think that Hondas are over-rated, but the perception of quality and the fact that they are mainly 4 cyl engines and therefore much better on gas are driving up demand which impacts the price...Ford on the other hand is making better vehicles than they used to but are having a hard time shedding the "lemon" image..I would go with the Ford over the Honda..but I'm now driving a VW Passat which I like better than both of the others...Germans are building much better cars and have 4 cyl Turbo, so you get good power with great gas mileage..

in five years if you happen to go sell it how much do you think each one will be worth ? I believe you will compensate a lot of the 3k price difference .

Ford. and to the guy who loves the Passat..go find out the expense for changing a water pump when you pull the front clip or rotors that wear out at brake changes....to prevent disc Squeel.Support the industries that support this country or you will regret is. There is precious little industry and manufacturing left. We cannot survive only buying from other nations forever.

The Honda Civic is the best compact car that i think you could buy. It gets 40 mpg, has 140hp, ACE body sturcture that will make it so much safer, and of course it will hold its value. The Ford Focus is about to be redesigned for 2008 and you can look at it here http://www.caranddriver.com/autoshow...ord-focus.html The focus also topped Forbes list for the 20 most un-safe cars to drive. So yes the Civic is worth it because you can just drive it or just look at it and tell that a lot more time and money went into it.

Definetely The Civic is more.Focus is one of those cars that is basic - 5 passenger, a/c, radio, and 1 key. Focus is also found at many rental car companies.Civic is a lot more valueable, because it can have more things, and better mpg.

Yes the resell value will be more on the Honda than the Ford. I have my second Civic. The first one has 260,000 when I had to give it up due to accident. The style on the Civic will change less often than the Ford so you will look like you are still driving a new car. Get the Civic I love mine.

Well it depends. Some Fords can be crap, but some can be good.Same with Hondas. Just depends on the quality of the car when you buy it, and some cars are just manufactured with a problem sometimes. I own a 1999 Honda Civic Si, and it's never given me a problem.

First of all ...RANT:To Mr. Patriotic who says "BUY AMERICAN - SUPPORT USA" ... by 2012, Ford will close 7 to 8 plants and cut 20-30,000 jobs and lost 1.6 billion dollars last year. Read USA Today or any other news and be careful of what you say. Honda has over 18 manufacturing/R&D facilities in operation in the US and employ over 100,000 people directly. Not counting suppliers that are related to Honda. Well over 50 percent of Hondas vehicles that are sold in the US are built in the US.ANSWER:The little premium that you pay for the civic will get you...Resale - which the Focus has little ofLower Cost of Total OwnershipSuperior EngineeringTruly a better car
