I cannot afford all of the turbo and supercharger and etc, but I truly love the sound of the catback exhaust. To get that deep growl with a catback do I need to install headers? Keep in mind I only want the sound not the performance. 1990 Honda Accord-2.2 liter-5 speed manual.

I don't think headers are nessecary. Since you got the 2.2L engine then I think it'll be good. Don't get the cheap ones though. $150-$300 that's cheap. Cheap=Bumblebee buzz. Average prices like $400-$500 is ok. Skunk2 and DC cat-back systems have that throaty deep tone.
