A four cylinder Accord is faster than any Civic except the Si, the V6 Accord is faster than that too. I would guess cheaper/easier to upgrade the Civic since it's probably the most popular "tuner" car out there, there are tons of stuff available for it.

the v6 accord is way faster than a civic...although a civic SI would give it a run for its money with its high revving k20. As far as modifications, there are more out their for civics. The civic is also much cheaper than an accord, so with the money you save on that you can put into modifications. If i were you, i would get a civic SI. Stock, its pretty fast. you can always add a turbo to it later and there will be no need for an engine swap considering you'll have the new hottest engine swap for civics already in your car. If you want to make something a little less common, i would get the new v6 accord and work on that. you'll see far less modified accords over civics. i believe some companies are even developing twin turbo set ups for the v6's.
