If I buy a 2003 Odyssey, 50000km from a private sale, can I take it to Honda and get it "Honda-certified", therefore getting me an extra year and 20000km of warranty? Or is Honda Certification only if I buy a car from their dealership? I live in Canada, not sure if their policy would be different than the US.

When the van was bought for $25,000 brand new, it came with it's basic warranty of 5 years or 100,000km on the power train. You can't get this warranty extended, Honda would loose too much money on such. On average, Honda's are more expensive here in Canada (I live here too).
