i would def. suggest the Honda. They are the best cars. I have never had a problem with my car. And they have the best sell back rate of any cars.. so if you plan on selling it after buying it in a few years, you will get back a good amount of money if you keep it nice. Plus they get GREAT gas mileage. which is SO important with the prices today! I love my Honda.. wouldnt trade it for the world. And if you ever have any problems with a Honda.. they have great services!!!! Trust me, Honda is SO the way to go!! Hope you have fun car shopping ;]

I love Hondas but the Toyota matrix does not compete with the Honda fit, it competes with the new Yaris and Edmunds.com says tht the Yaris if faster but the Fit is more fun to drive and they would rathr drive it than the Yaris. Why dont you go test drive them yourself.

I think consumers in USA are more educated. Read the questions on this website, everyone is choosing a Toyota or a Honda.Matrix is bit heavier but with a bigger engine. This means if fuel cost is a concern, Fit will be better.Matrix has a roomier interior but after you lay all the back seats down, they both have about same amount of room. If you need more room, you probably need a pick up truck or a van.But both are great choices. For me I would choose either a Fit Sport, or Matrix XRS with 180hp Celica motor. Anything lesser, I will choose the alternate.Good Luck.

Even though they are not in the same class they are both good cars. The Toyota Matrix is better value then the Honda Fit IMO. With the Matrix you get a bigger car, a larger engine that gets 36 MPG. The fit gets around 37-38 MPG with a much smaller engine. The tank is also pretty small too… a 10 gallon tank. You’ll find yourself stopping at the pump quite often. Not only is the gas tank small Honda placed it under the driver seat. No joke. Go to a honda dealer and take a look under the Honda Fit. you'll find it right under the driver seat.
