Re: How do I replace a 2003 Honda Pilot driver's side door lock actuator? Thanks?
First remove the door panel. There are 2 small sccrews in the cover on the interior door handle. Remove the screws. Slide the door handle toward the front and out of the door panel. Remove the door opener linkage rod from the plastic clip on the handle.
Then , pull up on the window switch panel, remove it and unplug the window switch. Remove the large screw under the switch panel, then the other large screw from the bottom side armrest.
Using a flat wide tool, pry the panel away from the door. You can feel and hear the clips coming loose.
Peel away the plastic from the rear of the door from top to bottom about halfway to the front. Remove the 10mm bolt and the spacer for the rear window run. Unplug the 2 connectors from the actuator. Remove the linkage rod from the white plastic clip on the door lock knob lever.
Remove the white plastic cover from behind the actuator. Take out the three screws from the door latch.
Take the handle linkage rod from the black plastic retainer, slide the assembly down until the rod can clear the window run. Finagle the assembly out of the door.
Pay close attention to how the pieces fit together on the child safety lock. This is the white plastic portion on the back of theh latch. Draw a picture if you need to, because it is difficukt to explain.
Remove the screw in the metal plate, unhook the 2 locking tabs on the sides of the actuator, and pry it off the latch with a small screwdriver.
I'll try to check back on this often, so if you get stuck let me know. I just did one of these on Saturday, so it is still fresh in my mind.
