Default What should I do to fix up my 1999 Honda Civic EX?

I already have Option Racing 4-2-1 headers waiting to be installed, I'm gonna buy a cold-air intake real soon, and I already have a 3"? 3.5"? exhaust (I don't know the brand). I don't have enough money for a turbocharger or supercharger so what else should I do guys?

EX, so it's a V-tech. umm, short throw shifter? The super charger gives better low end torque. Adjustable timing gears? If yyou gotta friend w/a dyno, shell out for 91 oct. gass and advance the timing 2 degrees at atime to see if you get gains. Anything over 5 becomes flirtatious with detonation.Big Bore throttle body?high performance muffler (adds upto 18 psi of power)consider a improved intake manifoldan R-type racing cam (assuming you have the stock SOHC)porting the cylinder headHave you given thought to a swap? You can get a B16A, B17A, B18A , B18B, B18C, B18C5 incl. Type R, H22A1 or H23A1 and F22 engines to fit in there. These all are larger. stronger DOHC engines that make your car able to get into the low 11s to high 10s

If your not putting a Turbo your probably going to lose power if you put a 3" exhaust ( Is it a full cat back or just the muffler) Your going to loose to much pressure and mess up your air to fuel ratio. You would need to flash your ECU to adjust the air to fuel ration so your going to need a e-management kit. Aldo i hope the civic is stick shift because if your driving an auto your definitely not going to gain anything except for a little better throttle response. Unless you floor the gas each time.

Spark plugs and wires try 10mm, get racing clutch, sports tires, take out the AC, pour octaine booster into gas tank. clean the intake manifold I heard you gain horsepower if you clean it because you get in clean air. Hope that helps

my 2 cents: improve your suspension, buy some quality springs and shocks, or coilovers, get some front and rear sway bars, and this will greatly improve your handling, and appearence..
