Can you put a D16Y8 1.6L engine w/ manual trans from a 98 Civic EX into a 99 Civic EX w/ auto trans? Or in other words, how could this be done? Any help would be great. Thanks.

it would be cheaper to buy the whole car already a 5-speed. You would need the motor/tranny, the tranny mounts, ECU, wiring harness from the 5-speed car, axles, shift linkages, shifter, the clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal, and the necessary sensors. All together it would be around $4,000-$6,000. You can get a low mileage 99 EX 5 speed for that price.
