I got this code. My car idles incorrectly, even if it's in 1st or 2nd gear the rpm goes crazy. I replaced the IAC valve, than a week later I got the same exact symptoms back. Checked the vacuum hoses, all seem to be fine. Is there anything else that could couse it? Or any idea what it could be??

Hope that IAC didn't cost you much -- they run around $150~$190. Good guess -- it's often the culprit. Might have tried cleaning the crud out of it first, though.JUST to be safe, pull the 3 pin plug on the IAC while the engine is idling. Does the idle change (speed should increase or start to fluctuate)? If not, you've got another bad IAC or there's a problem with the wiring/PCM that's not permitting it to work properly. If the idle does shift, then move on to the rest of these thoughts...You will need to check all the sensors that run to the PCM (vehicle speed sensor, coolant temp. sensor, air conditioning sensors, power steering pressure sensor, etc.). The PCM adjusts the idle based on the information it receives from these sensors. You can do visual checks on the sensors to check for damage or corrosion. Make sure your thottle valve closes completely. But make sure you re-check for vacuum leaks too. Might take more than a visual. Also, understand that a bad EGR valve can become a vacuum leak (I can't recall if the 2000 had a vacuum operated one). Be sure that isn't your issue. Further, an EGR that is *stuck open* will usually have the same effect as a vacuum leak.If you're looking for leak, the old "spray a bit of GumOut near the vacuum line connections to see if the idle changes" trick can be of use. Some will actually use propane for this. Exercise caution: the solvent and the propane are obviously flammable!

if i remember corectly theres a service bulletin on this i think it involves reprogramming the pcm...call your local honda dealer and ask them to lookinto it for u and if thats the case they will need to be the one to update it since its a honda fix!
