18" rims are quite enough to choke an average Honda Civic. Nevertheless, with your question in mind, you would need a very low profile tire, while minding the width. I would suggest a 215/35 r18.If I could make a suggestion, I would not go higher than 17" rims while retaining a stock ride. Any larger and you may wish to modify your suspension with stiffer sport struts/shocks to prevent excessive suspension travel. Rubbing along the inside fender, and engine apron, may be an issue. Ive seen custom jobs where the inside lip of the fender needs to be curled , or trimmed to allow for extra clearance. There are also rear camber kits available to custom align the wheels inside the fender well to minimize rubbing, and correct any geometry problems a larger rim size may cause.A good many rim upgrades also follow major suspension changes, such as the addition of coilover lowering springs and sport shocks/struts. If you are lowering your car, and its center of gravity, along with the addition of the larger rims, then body modifications, and camber kits are a necessity. It may save you some future headaches to run with 17" rims on 215/24 r17 ties from the get go.

I would go with 40 or 45 height tires because that's the most common for the 18" rim and as for width the widest that can fit on the rim would give you the best grip on the roads. I had 205s on my Honda and replaced them with 235s and the griping was very noticeable, indeed.
