I know this will not prevent thieves from taking it but, I already had a 2000 SI stolen and this new detach steering wheel alternative sounds pretty good!

if you look at sparco they make detachable steering boss's that will most likey fit your civic and could fit your MOMO wheel if their the same size.

you could also try www.tekniqauto.com They are pretty easy to install. My boyfriend did it himself. Be careful some of those detachable steering wheels are interchangeable even though the company says they arent. . meaning that they could just pop on another steering wheel of the same brand. wish i could be more help but my boyfriend is the one who knows more. email me and i could ask him when he gets home.
