Default JD Power initial quality survey: what do you think of Ford as the quality champ?

Have all Honda owners drunk the corporate Kool Aid? Is that Honda appliance really so good you can't conceive another maker doing a better job? Have you driven another product? I understand loyalty, I just don't understand burying your head in the sand...

I think that is total crap! Take almost any Japanese car and compare it to a Ford as far as build quality goes. The only thing that is keeping Ford alive right now is their trucks and the mustang. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see an American car company be on top again, but it just isn't going to happen right now.

I think, based on having owned two Fords, that they spend a lot of money to buy that survey result. And I don't mean fair and square either. The problem with initial quality is the time frame it is based on.Perhaps Fords are holding up better during the first 90 days of life. The new Fusion looks very nice sitting next to an Accord, but I wouldn't want to bet on how long the Ford would last from a mechanical standpoint. And the dealer network is the other deal breaker. I've never had a satisfactory experience obtaining warranty service from Ford. What's the point in offering a warranty if you won't honor it?That's why I'm driving a Civic and plan to buy another Honda later this year.

Hmmm. the same criteria that Honda lovers use to promote their cars doesn't mean anything once it doesn't say they're the best anymore... Says a lot about them, don't ya think?
