First of all get a manual, Haynes, Chilton, Alldata, Helms, whatever. Then follow the detailed instruction. But since I work on a lot of Honda and Acura, it only takes me a few minutes to remove the alternator from the V6 or 4 cylinder. First thing I should mention is that take off the (-) cable from the battery so you or other parts wont get electrocuted. For the v6 it's best to remove the plastic trim on the valve cover and the radiator fan that is blocking the alternator. Then loosen the alternator/AC belt by using a 14mm wrench on the tensioner and turing it CCW so it compresses it and therefore loosen the belt. Becareful because the tension kick back. After those are removed, it's easy access from there on. For the 4 cylinder, loosen and take off the belt or set it aside, then remove the screws and wire/harness on the alternator.Inspect the accessory belts and replace if there are more than a few cracks for every 3 inches.
