A grand will not do a thing If you want to go into the 12s I would sell it and buy a V8 car. Why start with a handicap.Ive seen 12 second Honda's and there anything but street able and they don't last long. They sure break alot. But then again I would never own a Honda.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!A 2.2 Vtech running 12s!? Awesome! For $1,000 NO DAMN WAY are you gonna get anywhere lower that high 13s AT BEST. LOTS of factors contribute in a car that old.Depending on the internal components, the mileage, the condition, and TONS of other factors you might be able to squeeze some extra HP out of your Honda. My opinion from lots of experience? Save your money. If you don't want to do that then here :- Cold Air Intake ($175)- Exhaust manifold and exhaust system ($300)- Ported throttle body gasket matched to the intake ($100)- Magnecor wires, MSD dist, plugs ($125)You'll probably need some of that $300 that's left for misc parts, oil and fluids, unforseen part replacements...If you end up with some extra cash you could put on new brakes...Take out ALL THE WEIGHT you don't need, EVERYTHING. Your 60ft and 1/8th will be alright, but your 1/4 will still be in the 14s I'd suspect.

Being a low budget guy myself, and loving to race, I kept my engine in my car stock! What I did for mods, was get rid of everything else in the car that I didn`t need.seats removed, replaced by a single plastic seat for me.Spare tireinterior panelsside window glass (replaced with the stuff you see on Jeep softtops).skinny aluminum rims/pizza slicer tires in backstock size aluminum rims in front/50 series low profile tires to make my gearing a little taller for better takeoffsstraight pipe, cat remains, but no mufflers now.bumpers removed.Next week I am going to make holes in the non-seen parts of the body with a large hole-saw for more weight reduction.I run low 12`s now. with a Plymouth Aries (K-car)
