Only the EX-V6 car has the homelink for the garage door remote. If you have that model, follow these instructions to program it.On EX V-6 modelThe HomeLink UniversalTransmitter built into your vehiclecan be programmed to operateremotely controlled devices aroundyour home, such as garage doors, lighting, or home security systems. It can replace up to three remotetransmitters.1. Unplug the garage door openermotor from the house current.2. Hold the end of the garage dooropener remote control 1 to 3inches from the HomeLinktransmitter. Make sure you arenot blocking your view of thered light in the transmitter.3. Select the transmitter buttonyou want to train.4. Press the button on the remotecontrol and the button on thetransmitter at the same time.Hold down both buttons.Release and press the button onthe remote control every twoseconds until the transmitter haslearned the code.5. The red light in the transmittershould begin flashing. It willflash slowly at first, thenrapidly.6. When the red light flashesrapidly, release both buttons. The transmitter should havelearned the code from theremote control.7. Plug in the garage door openermotor, then test the transmitterbutton by pushing it. It shouldoperate the garage door.If the button does not work, repeat this procedure to train itagain. If it still does not work, you may have a variable orrolling code garage dooropener. Test this by pressingand holding the HomeLinktransmitter button you justtrained. If the red light blinksfor two seconds, then stays on,you have a rolling code garagedoor opener. You may be ableto verify this with themanufacturer's documentation.Go to "Training With a RollingCode System."8. Repeat these steps to train theother two transmitter buttons tooperate any other remotelycontrolleddevices around yourhome (lighting, automatic gate, security system, etc.).Training With a Rolling CodeSystemFor security purposes, newergarage door opening systems use a"rolling" or variable code.Information from the remotecontrol and the garage door openerare needed before the HomeLinktransmitter can operate the garagedoor opener. The "Training theTransmitter" procedure trains theHomeLink transmitter to the propergarage door opener code. Thefollowing procedure synchronizesthe HomeLink transmitter to thegarage door opener so they sendand receive the correct codes. It may be helpful to have someoneassist you with this procedure.1. Make sure you have properlycompleted the "Training theTransmitter" procedure.2. Find the "Training" button onyour garage door opener unit. The location will vary, depending on the manufacturer. The manufacturer'sdocumentation may help.3. Press the Training button on thegarage door opener unit untilthe light next to the buttoncomes on, then release it. Thelight may blink, or come on andstay on. You then haveapproximately 30 seconds tocomplete the following steps.4. Press and release the button onthe HomeLink transmitter. (Thesame button you trained withthe "Training the Transmitter"procedure.)5. Press and release theHomeLink transmitter buttonagain. This should turn off thetraining light on the garagedoor opener unit. (Somesystems may require you topress and release the button upto three times.)6. Press the transmitter buttonagain. It should operate thegarage door.hope that helps
