how do i change a drive shaft of a 92 honda civic?

Well, there isn't a "driveshaft" in a civic, but axels that come directly out of the transmission to the two front wheels. To take these out you will have to pull the wheels, calipers, rotors, axel nut, then hammer away to remove.

All you have to do is remove the wheel on that side, remove the axle nut (this should be very tight and might require air tools), remove the lower ball joint from the lower control arm, pull hub off of axle, "pop" axle out of the transmission. Install new axle in the reverse order- do not damage the seal in the transmission. Replace the cotter pin in the ball joint nut and "stake" the axle nut after tight. Not too hard to do but you should really use an impact wrench to put the axle nut back on. Not an expensive job, shop around and pay a shop to do it. If you try it, make sure the car is properly supported, it may require some banging and pulling while you are under it. Good Luck!
