Default Any driving tips on how to save gas driving a Honda Civic 01 Automatic Tramissions?

My car is a Honda Civic VTI sedan 01 model 1600cc with an Automatic Transmission. I regularly have it serviced by the local Honda Cars Shop so I know it is in top condition. I used to drive a Manual Transmission vehicle and they say that an AT vehicle consumes more fuel than a MT vehicle. I would like to get some advise/tips on how to drive my car properly so that it would save on fuel.

only drive on the freeway at the lowest rpm and never stop . That way the lockup is on and its just like a standard shift. But i don't think thats practical. A standard is a manual shift and a auto saves all the work. Its your choice. They all waer out sooner or later.

Don't bother buying premium gas. Civics (at lease the new ones) actually get better mpg with regular than with premium. Check www.fueleconomy.gov, click "mpg estimates from users" at center-left. The comparison is not perfect, but at the very least premium should not make a difference.
