I have a 2003 Honda Civic Lx Sedan 4dr..I want to replace the factory 14" Rims with 17" Rims..Ok, first I asked about the tires....the best answer I got was to put 225/45/R17 tires on the rims....now I must ask....what size 17" rim should I put on a 03 Civic Sedan...17x7.0 or 17x7.5....does it matter or is this just something that doesnt even need to be worried about?

Depends on the laws in your state, if it doesn't matter to you or your state, it's your choice !!! It's only a half inch difference you won't even notice ! Keep in mind, going to a bigger tire will put more miles on your odometer than is actually being put on it.

225/45/17 is WAY too big for an 03 civic..you should be looking for a 17x7 with a 205/40 tire. Make sure you find a good set of tires, something like Nitto Neo-Gen.A 225/45/17 will have you running 66.7mph when your odometer says 60mph.

What the other said is true about the speed difference, but that's if you didn't take it to a tire shop to have it calibrated. Use tirerack.com to check specs and wheel sizes. They also have the best prices to start bargaining with.

Actually the guys above me are wrong. you will be going slower than the speedometer reads. As for the size it would be best to put 205/40/zr17's or 205/45/zr17's. The 225 is a bit wide. And I would suggest the 7.5 as this is what most 17" rims come in.
