the tie rod is $40-100 it depends on which one it is. then labor is going to cost about $150. don't forget to get a alignment, thats probably $49-79. it all depends on where you go for the service. i would stay away from the dealership if at all possible. meineke is a good place for that.

With shipping, you can expect an actual Honda replacement part will set you back about $50. Replacing it yourself is an easy job but you should ensure you install the new one with roughly the same adjustment as the old one and then take it in for an alignment right after you are done. The alignment will set you back an additional $50 so you can expect the repair to cost around $100 if you do it yourself.Assuming the old part is loose and not damaged from a wreck or bottoming out or something, you should consider replacing BOTH sides to bring your steering play to like new condition.Good luck!

Most shops should be able to do it in an hour. After the repair, you will need alignment.Doing it yourself requires tie-rod separator tool and cotter pins from the dealer (they are unusually small so aftermarket pins cannot be used) Not too difficult if you have the right tools. I bought a new tie-rod (6th generation Civic) for $35 and dealer sold me the cotter pin for $2. Took me about an hour to install.
