Default My civic wont accelerate when stepping on the gas paddel.?

My civic wont accelerate sometime when stepping on the gas paddle. I was turning right into the road then when I step the gas paddle, it didnt go, just stood there not going. I was gonna get into an accident until i let go of the paddle and stepped on it really hard again. It feels like it was not getting enough fuel or no fuel at all, loosing power. And it loses power sometimes when i drive with normal speed around 35 to 40mph. Well im not sure, just guessing about the fuel thing. Can someone help me. Honda guy?? I have a 92 honda civic LX, 4 door automatic D15b7 engine(i think). 1.5 L.

If you can't accelerate, it may be your transmission. If you lose all power and have to restart your car, it may be your alternator.

if ur good with eletrical components, u can try to get a voltmeter and splice it with ur throttle position sensor located on ur throttle body, and have someone step on the gas while engine is off, but key is in the ON position, the voltage should change, remember one of the wires is a signal and one is ground and one is constant 12V...the voltage should b around .5-5V

Sounds like a problem with your carburetor. Could be the float, the choke, or it could be a faulty or dirty gas filter. Check the filter first and then the others or have a mechanic in your area look at it. This could be EXTREMELY dangerous for you as well as OTHERS. Someone could get killed. Repair this problem immediately!

maybe your transmission is not working properly and need repair or replacement. it may also be your sensors, filters or carborator is/are dirty. did i recommend you let a mechanic check on it.

If you don't have any problems with your transmission, which it could be slipping and you were just stock in one place, and your tune up was recent I would say you go get your injectors checked. Since the injectors work as an electric magnet sometimes the selenoid goes bad on them and they don't deliver as much gas into the system as they are supposed to. Which eventually leaves one or more of the pistons to not fire. When you miss a fire It feels like you are running out of gas and it vibrates but you have gas. Hope this helps. I had the same exact problem and my ecu was giving me the code 16. Which is injectors.
