Being as this is the single cam, there is really no "jump" to feel. at 5,800 RPM the cam will change from a low profile lobe to a high profile, and the extra power will then be added. In your vehicle it's only about 5 HP. If its an automatic, you will probably hardley ever get there. If its a manual, try this. Go out onto an open road, roll up your windows and turn everthing off in your car, radio, A/C, anything that makes noise. now start driving, and about third gear, hammer the gas an watch the RPM gauge. When it hits 5,800 listen to the engine you will notice a slight growling that wasn't there before. thats your VTEC kicking in.
