becuz they just realize having all those letters on the trunk of a car and on the side, makes the car look nasty! lol my dad had a hyundai xg300 and the numbers and letters was spreaded across the trunk... thats a nasty scene! so they would rather tell you what edition it is instead of slamming them on the back of the car!

Many people do not like these badges on a car, because people "in the know" can decipher what model level your car is, and can know relatively how much you paid for it. Certain trim levels are lower in price than others, obviously. In Hondas case, its usually DX, LX, EX, in order from cheapest to priciest. Also, the trend in cars is to have fewer badges (even though many enthusiasts remove them), so automakers are cutting the amount of badges slapped on to cars. The new Civic does not have trim level badges on it, either.

Honda has decided that these various little added pieces of plastic are no longer cost effective. All Honda models have different features to tell them apart. For example: The 2007 Accord EX V6 coupe or sedan with a 6-speed M/T has red V6 symbol on the trunk lid, while the A/T has the V6 symbol in black.
