Is the sound coming from your speakers or your car? Might just be the aerodynamics of the car or a bad weatherstrip (those rubber seals on the insides of your doors). Check those out and see if they are in good shape. Also I noticed on my car....whenever I changed my wiper blades to rain-X ones, they have holes all through them and it was causing it to whistle when the air was going through them at high speeds. Just a suggestion.

Check your speakers first: shut off your stereo then turn on your head lights if there is no noise then the problem is actually your engine. the intake manifold whistles when the gasket is gone, or in some other way damaged. there are other things that make the car whistle but these two are the most common that I see at the shop.

If it happens only when you hit the gas, it could be one of three things.1.- Transmission. 98 Honda Passport had problems with it.2.- Leaky air hose.3.- Fan belts.

Although you didn't list any other symptoms, I'm going out on a limb here and guess that recently you've also probably been experiencing a loss of gas mileage, some engine hesitation, as well as some surging and/or stumbling (especially at idle). If so...It sounds like you need to replace your Intake Manifold Gaskets.Photo of a broken Intake Manifold Gasket:http://www.planetisuzoo.com/data/art...asket1.jpgThis is a very common issue with 1998+ Isuzu 3.2s & 3.5s (and just in case you didn't know, your Passport is an Isuzu-manufactured vehicle... aka: the Isuzu Rodeo). The good news is, if you're a DIY-er, it will only cost you about $30 or $40 to take care of the problem.Isuzu Part Number: 8-97237-538-0 Intake Manifold Gasket Replacement Instructions:http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewto...3c277d0991dc(* Scroll down to the fith post in the thread)Hope this helps.** Unrelated:Here's what your Passport could be doing if you spent "a few dollars more"...Photo:http://home.earthlink.net/~rgallen02...i-100_0391.JPG
