Default Does anyone else find racing a Honda Civic is as funny as I do?

17 year-old kids who put a large muffler, flashy rims, and racing decals on a crappy car and think it improves performance. How many times do you have to own them before they give up and go back to playing XBox? 6 times? 7 times?

I think it's more funny that you get an ego boast from racing 17 year old kids in their pimped out Civic. Oh, wait, that's sad, not funny, my bad.

Your not the only one, though a few times against a muscle car will change their minds eventually. I use my 79 trans am at about 350 HP to go "play."

Lol that reminds me...One day I was sitting at a red light and I heard these guys all yelling. So I look over (they were on my left, other side of intersection) and see these two young guys, probably late teens/early twenties in some import car with all the stuff you mention and this old man, probably 60, driving like a dodge durango or something. So they are yelling, flipping each other off, you name it. So the guys in the import car were revving it up and getting ready to take off and the old man was still just sitting there yelling at them. Then the light turns green...they both take off. And of course that old man left them in the dust. Now that I have typed this all out, I can see that it's one of those things you had to see, for yourself. But it was sooo damn funny. Those guys made a heck of alot of noise just to embarrass themselves. Not only did the old man beat them, then he cut them off and flipped them the bird.I don't know what it was all about but I thought it was great! Guess that loud exhaust and everything else didn't help much huh?I beat them in my regular old 4 cylinder galant. One time I was driving my husbands truck (little S-15, but with the 4.3L) which doesn't look like much, but can certainly handle it's own, so anyway this guy was in the left lane and I was in the right, at a stop sign. I knew the little jerk wanted in my lane and planned to cut me off. So the light changed, he took off, I gave it a minute and punched it. I swear I blew the doors of his piece of sh**. My husband laughs everytime I use that phrase but there's no other way to describe it. Poor guy must have been pretty embarrassed after that, and of course he did get in my lane after I passed him. (oh, I meant to say he was driving a little civic with the blue lights everywhere)Anyhow, point being, it's all a joke. You think they would feel dumb with all those accessories and acting like it's a fast car when it's only got 80 horsepower, but whatever. It's always good for a laugh, I mean doesn't it at least make you smile?**For the few that are getting a teensy bit upset because they drive a honda, we aren't even talking about you. No one doubts that hondas, or other imports, can be fast- if they are done right. We are simply laughing at those people, mostly young teens, that add accessories and nothing else, but think they are fast and try to race everyone. They are idiots and usually cause accidents.

It is so pathetic. With all the money they waste away making their car look trashy, they could probably get a BMW. sigh.

95% of "tuner" honda's are a joke. Blame Fast and Furious for missguiding young people that an exhaust tip, altezza brake lights and lame graphics will produce a 10 second car. But the small minority of honda owners that do the proper mods and dont have any intrest in making their car "blingin"have my respect. Everybody would love to have a Ferrari, but for most people that is unrealistic. Owning a honda doesnt make you less of a car enthusiast, and rest assured people have built hondas that could walk all over a ferrari.

I have a built 99 Civic that I did just for this purpose. Right now I put down 337 HP to the front wheels on 15 lbs of boost, and when I take it to the strip, I put down 497 HP on 25 lbs of boost. I will GLADLY play with anything. I beat new Z06 corvettes, I've beaten Porshe Carrera GT's. Granted this is not the norm, but I agree with the "stupid kids" thing, A FART PIPE DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN RACE!!!!! Oh by the way I still get 27 MPG.
