from a person that knows quite a few cars with both. Fiberglass breaks very very easy and usualy has to be repaired and is very pricey. Polyurethane body kits flex and are more durable. they can be pricier to buy but much cheapier to maintian. Since the polyurethane flex instead of break and crack most of the repairs will be just touch up paint instead of having to take it to some one to get refiberglassed and the have the whole thing repainted.

I used to own a shop and have sold all kinds of body kits. Go with a urethane or a "plastic" front and rear bumper if you have the money. It will last the life of the car where fiberglass kits will only last a couple of years before needing to be replaced or repaired. You will thank yourself for getting urethane the first time you scrape the driveway or bump into something. You will also be happier with the fitment of the kit. Fiberglass kits always have fitment issues and need additional labor to fit flush. Just make sure whoever paints the urethane pieces adds flex-additive to the paint so it doesn't crack when its bent or pushed on. Wing's West, Kaminari, and Erebuni are the best in my opinion.

I've had both on my 98 accord. The urethane was more flexible, but did not have near a smooth finish that the fiberglass did. With the fiberglass kit, the finish is so much more impressive and as long as you're careful and don't drive like a total idiot, then fiberglass is your better option for looks. Urethane is more functional, but fiberglass looks better. As long as someone who knows what they are doing puts the fiberglass kit on, it will fit perfect and look great. A great thing to smooth out fiberglass for the body work man is called "Z-chrome". You spray it on and it builds up the body kit. They use it on corvettes. Give it a try and you will see how much stronger it makes fiberglass body kits.
