Vtec comes in automatice too. All 5th generation preludes (1997-2001) came with H22a4 engines. The SH model (Super Handling) has a special system called ATTS (Automatic Torque Transfer System). If one of the wheels gets some spin, the system transfers power to the wheel that is getting traction for better handling. Both the SH and Base models have 190 horsepower. So yes vtec is with you!

V-TEC is used for economy in either auto or stick. Look at your engine code, if has H22 on it than it's V-TEC which it should. You also feel the V-TEC somewhat when you floor it and feel a boost of power after a certain RPM.

a few things. you have a vtec motor. 97-98 had 195 hp, 99-01 had 200 hp(horsepower). The fouth generation preludes (92-96) some came with a H22a1. those put down 190. If you need reassurance pop yor hood, your valve cover will say "DOHC VTEC" as for anywhere else, if you have original paint on your trunk, or if the sticker hadnt been peeled off, your trunk would also say DOHC VTEC. dont worry sexy bitch you have vtec be proud
