Default is the transmission filter easy to change on 1990 accord??????

Just bought the car from original owner, sat in his garage for two years, everything runs great, checked the fluid today, it was a little low, added some fluid, no leaks, seems like it hangs a little between 2nd and 3rd gear,it just so happens I have one in my trunk..... figure that one out..

Yes, You just have to drain the tranny and drop the pan on the bottom. The filter is Right there. Be sure to replace the pan gasket as well when re- assembling the pan to the tranny.

All transmission filters are easy but messy to change. Get a book like one of Chilton's for your car, the gasket for the transmission pan, a filter and fluid from a local auto parts store. Let them tell you what you need if you never did it before. Drive the car when you go to the store. I haven't found a drain plug, you just unbolt the pan and when it falls the fluid comes out all over the place. So you need a BIG pan underneath or four boards nailed together with plastic draped over them to catch it all. But it's an easy job, and works miracles. The fluid breaks down with time and that causes all kinds of trouble.

i own a shop and most of them aren't hard to change just real messy that's about it,but getting to it and getting the pan of is not that bad ,i don't know if these have a drain plug or not,but if it doesn't that's the messy part of it,other than that its just a time consuming job,but it does pay to take your time with this one, good luck with it.

The Honda Accord does not have a transmission filter thats easy to get to.You have to tear apart the transmission. That is why they recommend that you change the transmission fluid so often. You should simply follow the maintenance schedule and change the transmission fluid as recommended. You drain it through the bottom plug and fill it through an upper plug like a manual but with Honda auto trans fluid.Civics and Integras are also like this.
