Ah, the Civic Si. those are MARVELOUS cars. if the S2000 is too high strung and impractical for you, the Civic Si Coupe is the answer. Even at premium close to $25k, i believe the Si is worth every penny. Economical, practical (now they even come as a sedan), low maintenance, fuuuuun to drive, not to mention good looking. You can't go wrong!Keep it in good condition for a while and it may even become almost-collectible. Judging by the prices commanded by the old mid-80's Civic/Crx Sis in decent condition, it's a sure possibility.

I have the new Civic Si (2 door silver) - had it since April '06. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this car. I've written a detailed review on Epinions (See link below). In summary it's damned fast - like a 2.8 litre in a 2 litre engine. The 6-speed manual gearbox is a joy. It corners on rails (if you get understeer press down the accelerator - it disperses more power to the outside wheel to counter the understeer). The exhaust has specially designed reverberation changes. Combined with a VTEC engine the cam shaft changes configuration at 6000rpm and at that speed switches to a terrific reverberating racing car noise. You get to take the engine all the way up to 8000 rpm before you hit the red line.Reliability-wise it's been a dream - no problems in 12 months/12,000 miles. It does about 29mpg but you have to use premium gas.Interior is impressive - especially with the exclusive illuminated space ship like dashboard. Back a year ago when they were rarer I paid MSRP ($21k). I still don't see many about so suspect dealers still charge a healthy markup. Is it worth buying - not exactly a difficult question - it's totally worth it.
