Default I own a 96 Honda Civic and theres a clicking noise coming from somewhere on my car?

OK heres the problem when I'm driving theres a clicking noise coming from somewhere under the car. It only makes the noise when I'm accelerating and am in 2nd gear or higher gears not 1st gear but it doesn't make the noise when I'm coasting in any gear. Only when I'm accelerating. One guy told me it's probably my cv joints but I thought they only made that noise when you turn

When CV joints start going bad, they only click when your foot is on the accelerator and you are turning a corner. As they get worse, they start to click regardless of whether you're turning or going straight. However, CV joints are not the only thing which clicks on cars.Turn the steering wheel all the way until it can't turn any more. Look under the front of the car at the axle where it goes into the middle of the front wheel. There should be a rubber "boot" shaped like the child of a cone crossed with an accordion. If that boot is torn or missing (and you'll probably see yucky black grease all over the suspension, steering, and the underside of the fender), chances are you have a bad CV joint or one which will go bad soon. Turn the steering wheel all the way in the opposite direction and look at the other wheel. If the car is clean and free of grease and the boots are intact, then your problem is probably elsewhere.Email me the results of your inspection and any further details you have regarding your Civic and its issue.

The guy told you was right, it is the CV joint. It only makes a noise when you turn the wheels all the way to the right or left. A clicking noise when accelerating, means the CV boots that protect the CV joints are leaking grease. It may or may not have a hole in the CV rubber boot. It may or may not have a torn CV rubber boot. Grease will leak by centrifugal force, by turning the wheel fast (only when you are accelerating the car at a faster speed). I had my Honda dealer replace mine on my 1997 Civic LX. It cost me a bundle (because I had them replace both axles) but the noise is gone. I hope this information helps.
