I took my car to a mechanic and he replaced a pcv valve. Car runs ok in city but oil passes thru on highway. Is there anything that I can do?I took my car to a mechanic and he replaced a pcv valve. Car runs ok in city but oil passes thru extremely fast on highway(quart every few miles). Is there anything that I can do?This car has 206k miles. I think that the engine might need to be replaced. Is there any other solution?

It depends on how many miles on your Honda,if it has lots more than 100 thousand it might need new rings and a valve job. I had a truck like that ,it sucked lots of oil so I would change the oil and filter and put four Qts of oil and one qt of stp oil treatment,it would slow it from using lots of oil,it depends on whats worn.

pull your deep stick out , if you see eshaust gas coming out from there you have bad piston rings , only sulution to that is rebuild or replace engine
