Any honda is a good car, as a daily yes power options, ac. Common probs are same as any Honda make sure all maintance is done. After 100-130K on the tranny you might notice a slight grind in 3rd

It's a pertty good car it has power and speed altogether. However it only runs on Prenium gas and it eats lots of it. My friend has a 97 Honda Prelude at first he said it only ate a little gas. A week later i asked him again he said he wasted close 60 dollars on gas in only a week. I can last up to 3 weeks with 60 dollars of gas with my civic.

I had a 1995 Prelude that I kept for about four years. I bought it used from the dealer with about 14k miles on it. When I sold it, it had 125k miles on it. It ran beautifully from day 1 other than a small problem with the clutch -- it was a 5 speed -- that cost very little to repair. During the time I had it, all I did for it was get regularly scheduled maintenance, tires and change the oil regularly. I would definitely highly recommend this car. Always dependable, no rattles, no drama and great gas mileage. I have had a Lexus, BMW, Volvo, etc., and the Prelude could easily stack up well against any of them. Good luck!

I drive an 01' Prelude and can tell you for sure that this car has alot to offer. It is a wonderful handling car, despite being a bit heavier than a Civic or Integra. The fifth generation Prelude was produced from 1997 till 2001 so aside from a very slight bump in horsepower in the 1999-2001 cars (only five horses) a 97 would be pretty much the same car as my 01, just a bit older. I have 105,000 miles on the odometer and it's as strong as it was when I bought it. Aftermarket support is also very nice. there is a host of parts available for the fifth generation Prelude, alot of which is certainly on my wish list! Their Prelude forum can be very informative. Plus they have a great picture thread!honda-tech.com

It is a nice car, my friend had one, just make sure that whoever had it before didnt race it around and drive it hard. Preludes are the sportier honda and people usually drive them hard.
