Default 91' honda accord. what does it mean when you are sitting somewher for a long time & the

car just vibrates? It seems as if anytime i sit at a light or just sit parked for about a minute, my car vibrates badly. the hood really shakes. I've been told this could be something with the idle. any suggestions? also i was told it may tremble due to bad rotors. could this be correct?

The problem is that your rpms are falling to a level so low that your car is about to stall, then finally your idle kicks in. Pay attention to your rpm gage, if you car shakes when it goes really low that's probably your problem.

I have an 89' Accord and it does the same thing. It's simply age. Majority of all Hondas start to shake and vibrate after 10 years. It helps to put it in Neutral when you're sitting at stop lights or not moving while the car is running.

unfortunately your car is very old and it probably lost some compression. This is somewhat hard to repair dispute all the products that "restore compression". see if your car shakes more or less depending on weather the ac is on or off from what you are saying the car should shake less when the ac or air is off. the reason for this is because the ac/air uses power form the engine and in idol the engine is putting out very little power so the ac strains it causing more shake. for a temporarily solution i suggest putting your foot on the brake and just tapping the gas so that the RPMS reach 900-1000 the shake should go away because the engine is putting out more power.

it could be the mounts, or it's just idling.
