The new Accord is quiet and refined. In terms of noise levels, it has a little more road noise than cars like the Toyota Camry and Subaru Legacy, but the 4-cylinder engine is incredibly smooth. There is very little wind noise. In all other aspects, the Accord is a very good car--comfortable, roomy, reliable and good-riding. I consider it among the very best family sedans.

Funny you should ask, because I just bought a 2007 Accord with only 3500 miles, and it's so much noisier than my 1998 Camry with 165000 miles.
No surprise, I had the car for a long test drive (and loved the speed and handling), but am surprised how much road and wind noise there is. These issues seem to be a common and long-standing complaint. Am surprised Honda doesn't spend a hundred bucks per car to fix it. Buying new tires is not an option for me. I'm not tossing perfectly good Michelins with less than 4000 miles on them. I can see an aftermarket vendor making a fortune with an Accord Quiet Kit. Until then, has anyone had luck with simple things to quiet this car? |
