Why does a brand new 2007 model S2000 cost $35K U.S in America but in Canada the same car...
...costs $45K U.S!!?? What the phuk! Thats like $10K U.S differance!

Becasue Canadians make more money then American thus rasing the price. However if you don't want to pay that extra 10K then have some one buy it here and ship it over.

due to the higher taxes they have to pay. Look at the 99-00 civic that canada got. their SI model was our EX model. I guess the government doesn't like faster cars on their roadways

The exchange rate and GST... The Canadian dollar is worth 0.80 to $1 US. The GST can be around 15% of the value of the item purchased. They are about equal then... Enjoy,http://www.hybrid-rental-car.com

Simple answer. Tariffs and import fees. The Canadian Govt. has placed higher fees on the company to import these vehicles.If you were to try to purchase one in the US and bring it to Canada you would end up paying close to the same fees when it came time to pay for the import and registration fees.

Socialist leaning economics suck don't they? Next time you hear some CDN politician braying about the wonderous "FREE" healthcare, remember this question. That 10K difference probably went towards some guys sex change operation.
