You could go with a b18c1 (acura integra gsr motor) but they're all over 2k dollars for a descent one. An h22 prelude si motor wields a modest 210hp but after motor mounts ect that would run into a costly task. Unfortunately 700 dollars won't even buy a good d series (sohc civic motor). The b16a (civic si) has a nice 170hp already .I have a 2000 civic si too and let me strongly suggest rebuilding that mother with low comp pistons and such then boost the hell out of it. I eat v8s with little or no effort and still get 30 plus mpg.

realistically, you will not find one for $700.00. Even if you did put a Civic EX or DX motor in it the motor will be cheaper, but you will need to buy the transmission, axles, ECU, shift linkage, a new wiring harness, and motor mounts, costing you more in the long run. The CHEAPEST you are going to find a motor for your car is $1,300. These motors are HIGH in demand. the only 4 options you have for getting a motor that will directly bolt to your transmission are 1. Your B16A motor from a 99-00 civic SI $1300-$1500, DO NOT GET THE JDM VERSION as you will have to change a few things to work in your car. 2. B18C1 Acura Integra GSR 94-01 a little more power and torque $1400-$1700, 3. B18C5 from the Integra Type-R More power and torque, $2700-$3800, or the most expensive the B16B from a Civic type-r from Japan $4000-$4500. these prices are for the MOTOR ONLY. You will be very hard pressed to find a motor with low miles for less than the amounts I showed you. I work on Hondas doing engine swaps every day and believe me they don't come cheap. As for rebuilding the motor it will cost just as much to have it rebuilt as buying a good used one. Plus you can swap a motor over in a day, about 10 hours. If you rebuild it you are looking at least 3-4 weeks of downtime. If you need any help locating a motor feel free to contact me at hondab16tuner@yahoo.com
