Ok. I already know what people are going to say "Go turbo, do motor swap, B16 is better, go H22." I get it and I've considered it. I want to go an all original theme plus the car is all suspension for carving some of those canyons. I'm looking for some info on building all motor D16, and possibly getting around 200 or more out of it. Clean is the theme, and using the stock motor will only impress those who really know. Thanks for your help.

Yeah that is different. I never see an all motor SOHC before. In my opinion, yeah def. it can be done but for the amount of money you're going to put into it(ex. pistons, rods, headwork, valvetrain, ECU tunning) it just would not be feasable for the money. you said you want to get around 200hp, a LS/Vtec would do the trick or even a type R. It would be more bang for your buck to start of with a good solid foundation and go from there. But if you must know, check out raceeng.com. they sell a lot of pistons and rods and they can also custom make stuff for your application.

With all honesty, I understand what you are trying. 200 is pretty much out of the question unless you have around $8,000-$10,000 to spare. To be frank spending this much on this motor would be pointless. look at it like this, you can get a B16 swap add a turbo, run 8 LBS. of boost on stock internals for $5,000. If you wanted to build your B16 you can do it for around another $5,000. THAT IS AN ENTIRE BUILD FROM THE CRANK UP!!!! I recently had my B16 built and it was from the crank up. I run 15 lbs. of boost daily, and put down 337.4 HP to the front wheels. I have boosted up to 35 LBS. and put down close to 500 HP. (my block has been sleeved). The edelbrock turbo kit for the D16 puts down 176 HP to the front wheels. All motor is nice, but there is really limited potential, plus you can get into drivability issues. I have built numerous civics, with B16s, B18s, and a few H22a's which I would NOT recommend. The B16 all motor built by professionals tops out at about 245 HP. If your thinking that staying with the same motor will save a few dollars it wont. You will still have to take out the motor, and put it back in. The average for an all motor D16y8 is only 160 HP. Ypu have to think they put down only 112 hp from the factory. their power is VERY LIMITED. REMEMBER FACTORY NUMBERS FOR HORSEPOWER ARE AT TH CRANK AND NOT THE WHEELS!!!! consider your options carefully as if you build this motor and are unhappy with it you have pretty much wasted your money. consider this, B16 complete swap, $1,600, 142-145 HP instantly. to get this from the D16, AT LEAST $2,500.
