Honda GN4 is a very good oil. You will have no regrents form it. Also there any many other 4 strokeoils to use. Like from Maxiam, Belray, Klotz, Castrol, and so on. I have used Maxima product for years. In both 4 stoke and 2 stroke. The top end and bottom end. I use Maxima Syinthecitc blend 15w40 right now, and have for almost 4 years in my old yard bird of a Grizzly. It takes the heat very well, and can last far past the 30 hour marker. Which is good for me, for I live a good distance from the machine, and can not serice it on the spot when it needs to be done. But proucts like Belray 4 stroke, and Maxima Blend, or Full synthecthic are great choice's. Even Honda GN4 is a good oil. I used it for years in my old 250X. And that bike was a shop rental for about two years. As long as you use a motor oil with a non- friction modifier in it. Not a conventail car oil. They were not designed to run in a wet clutch or are a gear box. 4 cycle engine oil was. Weather it be from Honda, Maxima, Belray, Castrol, Klotz, Repsol, and so on.11 years ATV, Motorcycle, ATV, and Snowmobile technicain

i have had nothing but Honda quads and i always use Pennzoil 10-40 motorcycle blend, YOU CAN NOT USE REGULAR CAR OIL IN IT the semi auto tranny(or full auto tranny)were not designed for it and it can lead to problems, as for Honda oil, like the dealership where i got my quad said, Honda does not make their own oil and as long as it is motorcycle blend you should be fine, i haven't had any trouble ever and i ride the hell out of it in all kinds of conditions
