Default Why is it so hard to find a Honda CR-V LX 2WD?

I can't find this thing anywhere. I called every dealer in Illinois, and they have 4WD, EX, EX-L, and on and on but not the car I want. It is the base model. It is the car I want. I just want that car! Base model.

I think its because there is a demand for the vehicle. When I left the Honda dealership I was working at (Dec 06), we couldn't get a base model CRV; all we ever got was 4 wheel drive models and all of them were loaded to the gills. None of them stayed on the lot very long; our general manager said that they were only getting whatever Honda would allow them to get... They might be around, (LX 2 wheel drive) but, as of Dec 31, 2006, I had not seen one at the dealership I was at. Hope this helps, a car nut.

CR-Vs are hot right now. You could order one through the company instead of waiting until they come in.

Funny...my 2002 CR-V LX is just a front wheel drive, and I didn't think there was anything special about it. Maybe it depends on where you live. But here in California, there are quite a few FWD CR-Vs. Trouble is, their owners are happy and won't part with them.Including me.

If you live in northen IL, try a dealership in Janesville WI or there is also a dealership in Madison WI.
