Default 2001 Civic Headlights - Low Beams Do Not Work?

I get in my car lastnight, the low beams dont work. Brights work fine, parking lights are all that come on when lows should be. I changed the bulb in one, that wasnt the problem, checked the fuse, that wasnt the probelm. Any ideas? I am trying to avoid a mechanic, thought it might be a dimmer switch or something. Help Please!?!

The 2001 Civic has a recall on it for your problem with the low beams. The problem is with the combination switch. Honda will replace the switch at no charge under the recall regardless of the mileage or age of the vehicle and regardless if you are the original owner or not. Take it to a Honda dealer ASAP for your own safety

So Ive had this switch fixed 3 times already and its broken for a third time. Ive actually just been driving aroudn with my high beams on for the past 7 months.. much to the delight of anyone I drive by. After the first replacement of the recalled switch they make you pay 236 dollars for a new replacement. So im wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this as a recurring problem.

thanks!
