I own a shop, and deal with stuff like this all the time. What this is; Evaporator system gathers all the fuel fumes, and either filters them through the charcoal canister, and releases them into the atmosphere, or burns them back through the engine. The most common cause for this is; The gas cap is not on good, or it is bad, and letting the fumes escape. If you have noticed, the vacuum the tank has on it when you remove the cap to get gas, well...this is leaking off somehow, and you should not be building the pressure in the tank it requires to send the fumes to the charcoal filter/intake to be safely disposed of. Look for any vacuum hoses off, split where they plug on, or just collapsing because they are bad. Nine out of ten times the gas cap is the culprit, but check the hoses before you purchase a new one to make sure its not a vacuum leak. Look at every hose on the engine, fire wall, and around the sides that could be leaking. Sometimes you can hear them hissing if you listen around the engine, fire wall, and fenders.Glad to help out, Good luck!!!

If it's an EVAP code then you might want to try before going the expensive way. Try tightening your gas cap! If you do not click the gas cap on these newer honda's (98 and newer) then it will throw up a 1457 code which if you tighten the gas cap and then clear the code in the system. It will be ok... If it pops on again (and you are for sure that you have tighten the gas cap everytime) and it's the same code then you will have to take it to a shop to get the canister checked. In my experince I have only seen one bad canister (and that was on a 99 Rodeo) and I have seen this code 10,000 times!!
