Default why does the battery lite stay on, in my 89 honda civic?

battery indacator lite on the dash board stay on

have your charging system checked out at autozone as you could have a bad alternator.

I would think it means your battery needs replaced, or that there is a draw somewhere electrical, and causing your battery to drain.
