i got a 1993 honda civic ex its and automatic , 4 speed >.< which i wanna change i was looking into putting a new engine into the car is there a special type made for the car or can i put a prelude or civic si engine in it ?

I hope you realize swaping engines is about a 1000 job, not to mention the cost of the actual engine.

The cost of replacing an engine in a 1993 honda....it would cheaper and better to buy a new one.

Swapping the motor from a 99-00 Civic Si is a far easier swap to do than a Prelude swap. If you at all interested in performance you are going to also need to swap to a manual transmission. The Si does not even have an automatic as an option. If you do a little reseasrch you can easily do the swap yourself in a weekend. Don't pay someone to do it. I suggest you go to Honda-tech.com to do further research.

you can drop any engine on civic the best engine probably the best engine is a gsr. but if you have an H- 22 from a prelude that is a good idea but i think ur going to need to make customized engine mounts, but it will be quick you might want to make it a manual though.
