Shhh! I won't tell if you won't. You still have the original engine for inspection time right?

As long as your state does not have an emmissions test you ill be fine. try to get the H22 as close to the year car as you have. If its not it won't even pass visual inspection.

if you want a ture jdm h22 then you will need to source it from a junk yard and get the full clip. and because japan has different gas and emission laws you will need to replace all your sensors and emissions control. like your exhaust system and other parts to make it pass emissions test in the US.

no one said that motor swaps were illegal...as long as you have a catalatic converter and a muffler they can't say shit cause it will still pass emissions...and the h22 motor is probably the best swap you could think of to do to an accord...i'm proud of my fellow honda people...another way to make it pass emissions would be to turbo it cause the turbo sucks everything from your exhaust making the air coming out a lot cleaner

No it's legal only if you get it REF at the over at Sacromento. if you get pulled over and the cop asks you to pop the hood then he sees that, that motor doesn't belong there he'll check to see if it's stolen. If it comes back unknown then the cop will let you go however he'll give you at a fix it ticket. Then you need to get it REF.

I think any motor swap is legal but it's the emission in some state is the problem. Especially in California. Good luck.
