could anybody tell me wats under there because im thinkin of getting everythign tuned up and i wanted to learn a little about wats under the hood first.

an engine

An engine, transaxle, brake and possibly clutch hydraulics, power steering components, radiator, wiper motor, windshield washer pump and reservior.Same as is under the hood of any FWD car.Unless there's something wrong with your car, just follow the service schedule (in the owner's manual in most cars) and you'll be fine. If it hasn't been done you're due for a timing belt and water pump.You might get all the flushable fluids flushed. Summer's coming up, clean coolant isn't a bad idea.

If you are speaking performance wise it depends on the model of the car but odds are you have a D16 engine under the hood... not the greatest motor if you plan on doing any performance tuning to it but a turbo kit can be had for pretty cheap. My guess from your question you are not a very technical person and don't know alot about cars... i might be wrong... but if not I would look for a Honda Forum online and do some reading... the Honda Civic is the most "tunable" car you could get for the 90s... there are as many aftermarket parts for the honda B-Series motors (yours would be D-Series) as there is for a Chevy Small Block V8. There is however a good amount of support for a D-Series motor as I said above you could turbo the car... again this is prosuming entirely they you meant that you wanted to "sup-up" your car in your question.

A whopping 1.6 liter with 106 hp at 5000+ rpm. Standard tune up should include oil and filter, brakes, plugs, wires, air cleaner, fuel filter. May be due for timing belt.
